BBS Gold is an aerosol spray paint that is supplied ready-to-use in a pressurised can, formulated for even coverage across larger surfaces. It suits 1:8, 1:10 and 1:12 R/C bodies and larger static models, as well as full-size hobby and DIY respray work where a fine airbrush cartridge would run out too quickly. Metal flake settles unevenly if sprayed too wet, so slightly drier, well-atomised passes keep the flake orientation even across the surface.

💡 Laboratory Application Tips

• Preparation (Primer): A Black or dark Grey Primer is recommended for metallics: a dark base deepens the metal flake and gives the finish the same three-dimensional depth seen on the real vehicle, rather than a flat, chalky sheen.
• Painting Technique: Shake the can thoroughly for at least a minute, then spray in light, even passes from roughly 20-30cm, keeping the can moving to avoid pooling. Several thin coats give better coverage and a smoother finish than one heavy pass.
• Finishing: Allow full curing time between coats and before clearcoating; aerosol lacquers can stay workable for longer than airbrushed paint, so patience at this stage avoids solvent wrinkling later.

Real Scale vs. Miniature: This formula is adjusted to counter the "scale effect," so light reflection on the miniature stays proportional to the real vehicle or object rather than looking artificially pale or dark.
