Red

COLOR FAMILY

Description

🚗 Colour accuracy sells builds. Red reproduces the real-world tone with the pigment density and coverage scale modelers rely on for a factory-fresh result, first coat to last.

Red is a factory-matched solid colour developed for scale modelers who want an accurate, ready-to-use match without mixing or guessing ratios. Solid colours like this one form the backbone of most real-world vehicle finishes, prized for their consistency and ease of touch-up compared to metallic or pearl formulations.

Red is a brush-on acrylic colour that is formulated for hand-brushing directly from the pot, with a pigment load tuned for 1:35, 1:48 and 1:72 figures and small detail areas where an airbrush would be impractical. It self-levels well, reducing visible brush strokes on smaller surfaces.

💡 Laboratory Application Tips

  • Preparation (Primer): A Pink or White Primer is highly recommended. Because red and orange pigments are naturally translucent, a bright, uniform base ensures maximum colour saturation and prevents the paint from losing its original brilliance.
  • Painting Technique: Load the brush lightly and apply in thin, multiple layers rather than one thick coat; letting each layer dry fully between passes avoids visible brush marks and keeps fine details, like faces and uniform trim, crisp.
  • Finishing: A brush-applied Matte or Satin varnish, thinned slightly with water, protects the finished colour and unifies the sheen across a figure or small assembly without pooling in recesses.

⚠️ Chromatic Fidelity Notes

Real Scale vs. Miniature: This formula is adjusted to counter the "scale effect," so light reflection on the miniature stays proportional to the real vehicle or object rather than looking artificially pale or dark.

Visual note: Product photos are for reference only. The full three-dimensional depth and true pigment brilliance only become visible once the model is painted and properly clearcoated.
