Pale Orange

COLOR FAMILY

Descripción

🎯 Why modelers keep Pale Orange on the shelf: this is the shade builders reach for when a factory-accurate finish has to survive close-up scrutiny — from contest tables to camera macro shots.

Pale Orange recreates a metallic factory finish, where fine aluminium flake is suspended in the pigment to catch and scatter light the way the real paint does. Metallic finishes became standard on production vehicles from the 1930s onward and remain one of the most requested effects in scale modeling for their depth and realism.

Pale Orange is a brush-on acrylic colour that is formulated for hand-brushing directly from the pot, with a pigment load tuned for 1:35, 1:48 and 1:72 figures and small detail areas where an airbrush would be impractical. It self-levels well, reducing visible brush strokes on smaller surfaces. Metal flake settles unevenly if sprayed too wet, so slightly drier, well-atomised passes keep the flake orientation even across the surface.

💡 Laboratory Application Tips

  • Preparation (Primer): A Black or dark Grey Primer is recommended for metallics: a dark base deepens the metal flake and gives the finish the same three-dimensional depth seen on the real vehicle, rather than a flat, chalky sheen.
  • Painting Technique: Load the brush lightly and apply in thin, multiple layers rather than one thick coat; letting each layer dry fully between passes avoids visible brush marks and keeps fine details, like faces and uniform trim, crisp.
  • Finishing: A brush-applied Matte or Satin varnish, thinned slightly with water, protects the finished colour and unifies the sheen across a figure or small assembly without pooling in recesses.

⚠️ Chromatic Fidelity Notes

Real Scale vs. Miniature: This formula is adjusted to counter the "scale effect," so light reflection on the miniature stays proportional to the real vehicle or object rather than looking artificially pale or dark.

Visual note: Product photos are for reference only. The full three-dimensional depth and true pigment brilliance only become visible once the model is painted and properly clearcoated.

👉 Don't let your build wait on the wrong colour. Order Pale Orange today and keep your project moving toward a factory-accurate finish.
