Grigio Titanio Fiat Abarth
Description
Celebrated across Abarth's modern renaissance since 2008 on the Abarth 500, Grande Punto, and 695 Tributo series, Grigio Titanio is a cornerstone of the Italian manufacturer's color palette. Created to emphasize aggressive body lines without visual excess, this titanium grey has become an established modern classic on European tracks and roads.
Developed strictly from the Original formula with a Two-Stage Metallic finish, this water-based acrylic variant is tailored for 1:24 and 1:18 scale projects. Its finely milled pigment suspension prevents clogging and out-of-scale grain buildup while providing strong adherence without strong solvent fumes, ready for direct airbrush use.
💡 Laboratory Application Tips
- Surface Preparation (Primer): Apply FSW013 - Primer Grey for a balanced neutral base, or FSW051 - Primer Dark Grey to enhance shadow contrast.
- Painting Technique: Apply thin, buildable coats at 18–22 psi, allowing each layer to dry thoroughly so the metallic flakes settle flat and evenly.
- Topcoat Protection: Protect the surface and reveal metallic brilliance by applying 2K Gloss Clearcoat VFC002 or 1K Gloss Clearcoat VFC005.
⚠️ Chromatic Fidelity Notes
Real Scale vs. Miniature: This formula has been laboratory-adjusted to mitigate the "scale effect," ensuring light reflection on the scale model remains proportional to the full-size car. However, metallic reflective pigments have a structural limit below which the flake shape is compromised, turning metallic shimmer into a matte, lifeless tone.
Visual Note: Digital representations are for reference only. The true 3D metallic effect and depth of pigment will only become fully visible once the paint is applied and clearcoated on the model.
