Widebody Grey: a deep grey with a Xirallic sparkle

This grey is matched to a Ferrari F430 widebody by LBWK (Liberty Walk), the Japanese tuner famous for bolt-on arches, lowered stances and bold custom cars. The colour is based on Audi Daytona Grey (LZ7S), a deep, dark grey pearl with a fine Xirallic sparkle that flashes silver in the light and turns almost black in the shade. For modelers, Widebody Grey is ideal for Liberty Walk and widebody kits in 1:24, and for any modern tuner, drift car or custom project that needs a dark grey with real depth.

The problem with pearls

Pearl and Xirallic effects show every mistake: wet passes cluster the sparkle into blotches, and uneven coats change the colour from panel to panel. Controlled, even, slightly drier passes give a smooth, consistent shimmer.

How to apply

1. Shake the bottle for at least 60 seconds.
2. Prime with a grey primer and let it dry fully.
3. Airbrush straight from the bottle, no thinning needed. Use a 0.2–0.4 mm nozzle at around 20 PSI (1.4 bar) and apply light, cross-hatched coats, letting each one flash off before the next.
4. Keep the airbrush moving at a constant distance for an even effect.
5. Let the paint cure overnight before masking or clear-coating.
6. Seal with a water-based clear coat: gloss for a factory shine, or satin or matte for work vehicles and interiors.
7. Clean the airbrush with water before the paint dries.

Shelf life

Estimated shelf life of more than 12 months when stored tightly closed between +10 °C and +28 °C, away from frost and direct sunlight. Shake well before use; if the paint has thickened or separated and does not remix, do not use it.
