RAL 5026 Pearl Night Blue: Deep night blue with a pearl sparkle

RAL 5026 Pearl Night Blue is a very dark blue with a pearlescent sparkle that comes alive in the light. Part of the RAL Classic pearl collection, it is used in architecture and design, and it has the depth typical of premium finishes. For modelers it is a rich option for luxury saloons, custom cars, motorcycles and show models. Finish under gloss clear to reveal the full effect. A black primer deepens the base and keeps the pearl glowing.

The problem with pearls

Pearl effects show every mistake: wet passes cluster the pearl into blotches, and uneven coats change the colour from panel to panel. Controlled, even, slightly drier passes give a smooth, consistent shimmer.

How to apply

1. Shake the bottle for at least 60 seconds.
2. Prime with a black primer and let it dry fully.
3. Airbrush straight from the bottle, no thinning needed. Use a 0.2–0.4 mm nozzle at around 20 PSI (1.4 bar) and apply light, cross-hatched coats, letting each one flash off before the next.
4. Keep the airbrush moving at a constant distance for an even effect.
5. Let the paint cure overnight before masking or clear-coating.
6. Seal with a water-based clear coat: gloss for a factory shine, or satin or matte for work vehicles and interiors.
7. Clean the airbrush with water before the paint dries.

Shelf life

Estimated shelf life of more than 12 months when stored tightly closed between +10 °C and +28 °C, away from frost and direct sunlight. Shake well before use; if the paint has thickened or separated and does not remix, do not use it.
