Giallo Maggio: a pearl yellow with Italian V12 drama

Named after the month of May, Giallo Maggio is one of the pearlescent yellows from Lamborghini's modern palette, a shade that gives Sant'Agata's angular supercars a warm glow instead of a flat, lemony finish. The pearl lifts the highlights along sharp creases and intakes, which is exactly what makes these shapes read well at 1:24 and 1:18. Builders use it for Huracán, Aventador and similar modern supercar kits when they want something more refined than a basic solid yellow, especially under a deep, polished clear coat.

The problem with pearls

Pearl effects show every mistake: wet passes cluster the pearl into blotches, and uneven coats change the colour from panel to panel. Controlled, even, slightly drier passes give a smooth, consistent shimmer.

How to apply

1. Shake the bottle for at least 60 seconds.
2. Prime with a white primer and let it dry fully.
3. Airbrush straight from the bottle, no thinning needed. Use a 0.2–0.4 mm nozzle at around 20 PSI (1.4 bar) and apply light, cross-hatched coats, letting each one flash off before the next.
4. Keep the airbrush moving at a constant distance for an even effect.
5. Let the paint cure overnight before masking or clear-coating.
6. Seal with a water-based clear coat: gloss for a factory shine, or satin or matte for work vehicles and interiors.
7. Clean the airbrush with water before the paint dries.

Shelf life

Estimated shelf life of more than 12 months when stored tightly closed between +10 °C and +28 °C, away from frost and direct sunlight. Shake well before use; if the paint has thickened or separated and does not remix, do not use it.
