Giallo Midas: Pearlescent Yellow with Supercar Glow

Giallo Midas is a multi-layer pearl yellow from Lamborghini's modern palette, a colour that shimmers with golden highlights as light moves across the bodywork. Yellow has long been one of the defining colours of Sant'Agata's supercars, and this pearlescent version adds extra depth and sparkle compared with a flat solid yellow. It has been seen on the brand's V10 and V12 models of the last decade. For modelers, it is the colour for a show-stopping modern supercar build, applied over its dedicated base for the true layered pearl effect.

The problem with pearls

Pearl effects show every mistake: wet passes cluster the pearl into blotches, and uneven coats change the colour from panel to panel. Controlled, even, slightly drier passes give a smooth, consistent shimmer.

How to apply

1. Shake the bottle for at least 60 seconds.
2. Prime with a white primer and let it dry fully.
3. Apply the supplied base colour first in even coats and let it dry before the colour coat.
4. Airbrush straight from the bottle, no thinning needed. Use a 0.2–0.4 mm nozzle at around 20 PSI (1.4 bar) and apply light, cross-hatched coats, letting each one flash off before the next.
5. Keep the airbrush moving at a constant distance for an even effect.
6. Let the paint cure overnight before masking or clear-coating.
7. Seal with a water-based clear coat: gloss for a factory shine, or satin or matte for work vehicles and interiors.
8. Clean the airbrush with water before the paint dries.

Shelf life

Estimated shelf life of more than 12 months when stored tightly closed between +10 °C and +28 °C, away from frost and direct sunlight. Shake well before use; if the paint has thickened or separated and does not remix, do not use it.
