ZZR Green Met.: deep translucent green over a bright base

Big-bore Japanese sport-tourers of the 1990s and 2000s often wore rich metallic greens, and this candy shade captures that look on a Kawasaki ZZR-style scale bike. It is a two-layer system: a reflective base goes down first, then the tinted green coat builds depth with every pass, so the modeler controls how dark and wet the final colour looks. It suits sport-touring fairings, custom bikes and show cars, and it rewards careful, even coats that keep panels matching from tank to tail section.

The problem with candy and multi-layer colours

Depth comes from layers, so every extra coat darkens the result. Apply the base first, then build the colour coat in thin, even passes, counting them so every part of the model ends up the same shade.

How to apply

1. Shake the bottle for at least 60 seconds.
2. Prime with a grey primer and let it dry fully.
3. Apply the supplied base colour first in even coats and let it dry before the colour coat.
4. Airbrush straight from the bottle, no thinning needed. Use a 0.2–0.4 mm nozzle at around 20 PSI (1.4 bar) and apply light, cross-hatched coats, letting each one flash off before the next.
5. Let the paint cure overnight before masking or clear-coating.
6. Seal with a water-based clear coat: gloss for a factory shine, or satin or matte for work vehicles and interiors.
7. Clean the airbrush with water before the paint dries.

Shelf life

Estimated shelf life of more than 12 months when stored tightly closed between +10 °C and +28 °C, away from frost and direct sunlight. Shake well before use; if the paint has thickened or separated and does not remix, do not use it.
