RAL 1036 Pearl Gold: rich pearl gold

RAL 1036 Pearl Gold is a gold with a pearlescent effect, part of the pearl and metallic effect shades added to the RAL Classic range. It is used on building elements, design objects and decorative details. Modellers use it for custom cars, bikes and decorative details. The pearl pigment gives a warm, glowing shimmer that changes with the viewing angle, adding a luxurious touch to show cars, trim and emblems. Spray in thin, even passes and seal it under clear coat for depth. Spray it over a grey primer.

The problem with pearls

Pearl effects show every mistake: wet passes cluster the pearl into blotches, and uneven coats change the colour from panel to panel. Controlled, even, slightly drier passes give a smooth, consistent shimmer.

How to apply

1. Shake the bottle for at least 60 seconds.
2. Prime with a grey primer and let it dry fully.
3. Airbrush straight from the bottle, no thinning needed. Use a 0.2–0.4 mm nozzle at around 20 PSI (1.4 bar) and apply light, cross-hatched coats, letting each one flash off before the next.
4. Keep the airbrush moving at a constant distance for an even effect.
5. Let the paint cure overnight before masking or clear-coating.
6. Seal with a water-based clear coat: gloss for a factory shine, or satin or matte for work vehicles and interiors.
7. Clean the airbrush with water before the paint dries.

Shelf life

Estimated shelf life of more than 12 months when stored tightly closed between +10 °C and +28 °C, away from frost and direct sunlight. Shake well before use; if the paint has thickened or separated and does not remix, do not use it.
